Default Custom 'I'vor Contest Rules

Welcome to the Custom 'I'vor contest at NurbsAndPolys.com

Glen Southern and I have collaborated on the idea of taking a base mesh of 'I'vor and and customizing it as a fun contest! The prize is tiny but the winner will have the adoration of millions! Glen is doing something similar for the SILO crowd, LINK, but you cannot win at both sites.

THE PRIZE!
A copy of Visual Story telling with Ian McCaig from Gnomon.

The COMPETITION!

Easy!

Just Custom`I`vor!!!!!

1. Download the base mesh

2. Download the .PSD texture template

3. Download the frame for your final entry

So, download Ivor, download his UV template. Mess him up however you like and create a whole new outfit and texture maps for him. Look to the Vinyl toy world for inspiration folks! Give him equipment if needed.

SUBMITTING ENTRY
Create your own thread in this forum, using your name and character title. Only images appearing with a frame will be judged. Please be sure to use the attachment manager to save your image for longevity. You may still link the file as inline image from your server.

CLOSING DATE
To be decided, 2 - 4 weeks. For now, just play and have fun.

The JUDGE
Glen's son of 5-1/2 years will be judging... so keep that in mind since coolness is the factor to win.

This looks fun!

I'm new here. I may enter this, though, because it looks to be so fun .

A question:

Does this mean we CANNOT alter the mesh at all, but that we are only to paint a new texture for the model?

Secondly, the last link (for the frame) is not working for me.

HyperGraph,

yes of course you can alter the mesh, but it just means you'll need to take care of the UV's.

Try the link for the frame, it should be fixed... sorry for the typo.

Here's some ideas that Glen did himself to get some inspiration flowing.

Great start Jason.

If anyone's on Twitter search #customivor and see who's posting any images of the little guy on there.

Here's a little vid on YouTube about Custom`I`vor an who he was intended for.

Can't wait to see some of the creations over here. I am hoping to see Darth Ivor, Spongebob Ivor, Dr. Evil Ivor, Dino Ivor and ESPECIALLY...I wanna see Mummy Ivor!

Glen

You need to right click on the links and "Save As". Then just open up the .obj file in your modeling software. Post back if you are still having trouble - I'll check back periodically...

Good luck - Mike
